We are seeking outstanding candidates to work in the group of Professor Peter Bruce FRS, tackling the challenging fundamental problems at the interfaces between the electrodes and electrolyte in solid state batteries. You will have expertise in electrochemistry, surface science or solid state chemistry and in a range of analytical techniques to investigate the structure and properties of materials and their interfaces.
You will have a first degree and a doctorate in a relevant area (or close to completion). You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, along with a strong record of research commensurate with experience.
There are up to two posts available. The researcher(s) will develop research objectives and proposals, plan, manage and carry out research in the area of Li and/or Na solid-state batteries. You will investigate interfaces and develop a fundamental understanding of the processes taking place with the aim of overcoming the issues preventing the adoption of solid state batteries. You will be expected to collaborate with colleagues in the group, the Oxford SOLBAT team and the wider SOLBAT community.
