Two posts are available at the University of Manchester: one for 12 Months and the other for 24 Months. Based on the Energy and Power Division, you will work on an EPSRC-funded project to examine the control and performance of grid-linked storage assets at the equipment level, and also on the wider grid scale. Using our state-of-the-art energy storage facilities, you will drive forward a new strand of research to evaluate the electrochemical energy storage system design, operation, and grid-wide control. Our facilities include a Siemens Siestorage, grid-linked, lithium-ion energy storage system, a high-power battery life-cycle test system and a real-time digital simulator (RTDS). You will be part of a team of collaborating researchers from universities across the UK.
