At Reader level, the post offers a fast track opportunity for promotion to full Professor and to provide inspirational excellence and leadership in the Department’s emerging power electronics and electrical machines research. Research areas of interest include power electronics (especially wide bandgap device based) converters and drives for application areas such as: electrification of transport, including electric vehicles (linking with the Institute for Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems), aerospace and autonomous systems; low voltage and DC networks and smart grids; superconducting machines, fault current limiters and energy storage.
