The University of Manchester invites applications for a Research Associate in Building Energy Management Systems Utilising Energy Storage. Based in the Energy and Power Division, you will work within an Innovate UK funded project, and will evaluate methods to reduce the energy consumed by commercial buildings through the use of renewable systems and energy storage. You will be responsible for devising building management control systems which utilise energy storage to minimise the energy consumption of the building. Using our state-of-the-art energy storage facilities, you will demonstrate these building management control systems, and evaluate their performance. Our facilities include a Siemens SieStorage, grid-linked, lithium-ion energy storage system, a high-power battery life-cycle test system and a real-time digital simulator (RTDS).
