PhD: Novel Laser Technologies in Lithium ion Battery Manufacturing

WMG, University of Warwick and MSolv are seeking a top class candidate to undertake research leading to the award of an International Engineering Doctorate awarded jointly by the Universities of Warwick, Exeter and Cranfield.

As a ‘research engineer’ on our International Doctorate programme you will have unrivalled access to some of the best teaching and industrial expertise in the world, across three universities.  While you will be based at WMG and MSolv, you will also spend time at Cranfield and Exeter Universities to give you the broadest possible experience. Project

This project is to utilize novel laser technologies which will be developed in conjunction with MSolv to investigate improving the manufacturing processes of lithium ion batteries. In particular the electrode processing aspects will be developed by looking at novel electrode architectures and patterning techniques. In addition to the electrodes the lithium ion cell manufacturing processes will be investigated and novel laser techniques applied.
