UCL Chemical Engineering is a world-leading centre for research in electrochemical technology, an appointment is sought for a post-doctoral researcher to develop novel battery technologies based on Si electrodes and apply diagnostic techniques including X-ray imaging/advanced electrochemical characterisation to understand their modes of operation. In the first instance the appointment is available for up to 2.5 years.
The key role of the post holder will be to perform leading research to prepare and investigate the properties of Si materials for applications as advanced Li-ion battery electrodes. The position will be based in the Electrochemical Innovation Lab in the Department of Chemical Engineering on the Bloomsbury campus of UCL and involve close collaboration with Innovate UK funded project partners Nexeon and Synthomer.
